The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture & Architectural Products Magazine select Fluxwerx luminaires as winners in Lighting category

View Mini and Lines Onwall earn top honors from international product design competitions

Fluxwerx luminaires have once more received prestigious recognition, securing both the GOOD DESIGN®  Product Design Award and Architectural Products' Magazine's Product Innovation Award (PIA)—renowned accolades celebrating excellence in design and innovation. Tested and assessed by juries of international designers, both luminaires were awarded the sought-after prizes for highest design quality in the Lighting category.

The Product Innovation Awards (PIA) by Architectural Products Magazine recognize outstanding product innovation specifically tailored to the needs of the architecture and design community. Celebrating the development of creative, high-performing products that enhance building design and functionality, the evaluation focuses on innovation, performance, sustainability, and overall contribution to advancing architectural design.

Now in its 74th year, Good Design® is one of the world's most prestigious, recognised, and oldest Design Awards programs organised annually by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press, Ltd. In 2024, several thousand designers and visionary companies from over 55 countries entered the competition. The jurors reviewed over 1,200 entries in order to assess not just the aesthetic merit of each entry, but materials selected, the level of craftsmanship, the surface structure, ergonomics, innovation, sustainability, and functionality.

Winning GOOD DESIGN is a testament to the commitment of designers and manufacturers to create intuitive and easy-to-use products and bold and new innovative solutions for product design. In keeping with the same spirit of Saarinen and Eames, the 2024 GOOD DESIGN winners overall have set an ever higher, bold standard for sustainability with an extraordinary design sense that is increasingly sophisticated, cosmopolitan, and contemporary.

- Christian Narkiewicz-Laine, The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, chief curator of Good Design

Both View Mini and Lines Onwall are also recipients of the International Living Future Institute Declared labels.

With a form only 3.5" in height, View Mini offers exceptional performance for general ambient illumination applications. Appearing like a floating fenestration that remains transparent even when illuminated, the luminaire's Anidolic-Extraction optical technology provides precisely controlled distributions with no view of the source, delivering exceptional visual comfort and wide on-centre spacing of up to 15ft on centre, 35 fc at 0.4 W/ft2.

With no electrical connections at fixture joints required, View Mini can be installed as an independent pendant or as a continuous lighting system with virtually seamless runs. A choice of various output and distribution options allows View Mini to be used as a lighting solution in various environments and conditions. In addition, View Mini is also available with an independent up-down lighting control option that provides fully dimmable or switchable independent control of the upper and lower hemispherical distributions.
